Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic, is also a popular public speech writer. She created Feminist Frequency which is a website that features videos and comments on the representations of women in pop media. Anita Sarkeesian has been a journalist, media critic and a prestigious feminist for more than a decade. Feminist Frequency investigates how women are represented in the pop culture. Dispelling stereotypes of women is her primary goals. In addition, Sarkeesian discusses issues of specifically targeted harassment online against women and other minorities which have been marginalized. Holding a master's degree in political and social thought at York University Sarkeesian is also an extremely sought-after public speaking engagement and has given speeches at TEDxWomen XOXO Festival as well as at the United Nations' Broadband Working Group on Gender. As a university student Sarkeesian was fascinated by the issue of gender and rights for women from a young age. The determined lady had planned to start a web-based series examining gender representation in video games. However, she was the subject of an online harassment campaign. But the harassment did not dissuade her. It only strengthened her as a journalist who is feminist. The award-winning journalist has received numerous accolades for her numerous significant contributions to the world of feministism.
